Hilos Para Tejer

Hilos Para Tejer

A book that represent the quotidianity of a Mother to her children: Every Saturday, José de la O, along with other members of his family, has been receiving emails from his mother, where she wrote stories about her life. Carmelita, de la O's mother, called those mails "Hilos para tejer" (spanish for "knitting yarns"), as a metaphor of how she wants to knit her life with her loved ones. Carmelita craftly described on her emails on a very candid and sort of naïve way, her everyday life, some memories and her thoughts on society and politics. For de la O, reading this text where surprisingly enjoyable, and he decided that her stories needed to be moved from the dryness of the e-mail format to a tangible medium, like a book. What started as a christmas gift, became a studio project, when de la O asked Natalia, the talented graphic designer at delaO design studio to design and illustrate a book with her stories.
