The Nosebowl: A bowl designed for the lonely eater for La Chicharra Cerámica.

People are eating alone. Recent studies show that eating alone is a growing trend, even in multi-person households. Eating at home is becoming a multitasking experience, where people find themselves look at social media or watch Netflix while having lunch or dining, away from the dinning table and in the couch or bed.

As the rituals on Dining change, Dinnerware has to respond to new types of interaction with food. Studio José de la O has designed in collaboration with ceramics Design brand, La Chicharra, a slightly anthropomorphic bowl that is designed for eating elsewhere but a dining table. The Nose Bowl is intended to contain food like cereal, pasta, ice cream or similar comfort food. The little nose on the bowl gives almost a face to the artifact, as a subtle echo of companionship for the lone-eater.
